What is the difference between IPC and the new Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS 2023/2026)?

The Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) replaced the Indian Penal Code (IPC) from July 1, 2024. It reorganized sections (e.g. cheating is now Section 318 BNS instead of 420 IPC, murder is Section 103 BNS instead of 302 IPC) and introduced community service and electronic evidence provisions under BNSS.
